Writing a Good ‘About Me’ Profile Section

Getting started is quick and easy. You can set up your ‘about me’ profile in almost no time at all. A personal profile is a fantastic way to introduce yourself to your patients, to build rapport with them, and to gain their trust. And you don’t need to say much, to introduce yourself well.

You can add as much, or as little, information as you like. And you can update it at any time. The benefits of having even a succinct profile can be very significant, so it’s well worth committing a short amount of time to.

What’s more, you don’t even need to log in to update your profile. Simply send us the changes you’d like making, and we’ll update it for you.

No time to write a profile? No worries! You can use our default profile text when signing up, then contact us when you’re ready to make changes to it.

What should you include?

First, you should introduce yourself as an Anaesthetist, and the service you provide. This gives your patients an idea of where you come in, in terms of their operation. Next, you might consider offering a brief overview of your background. This gives your patients an idea of where you have come from, your personality, and your interests. It adds a ‘human’ element to their treatment, which can be very reassuring in an otherwise unsettling time.

Importantly, you should outline your professional history, and education. This gives your patient an insight into your training and expertise. It reassures them that they’re in very safe hands.

Finally, explain the next steps for your patient. This might involve completion of your pre-op, or post-op forms.

Creating your profile is a straight-forward process, and will bring significant benefits in terms of patient relationships and confidence. Remember, we offer a complete service, so if you need any assistance, we’re right here.

Summary of points to include in your profile page:

  • Who is an Anaesthetist and why do patients need you
  • Tell your story
  • Mention your qualifications
  • Include a picture
  • Give a brief work / training history
  • List the main hospitals where you work
  • Provide information on what the patients need to do next
  • Include any other critical or post operation information
  • Request feedback (CPD Patient Experience Surveys)

What if I don’t have text ready?

If you don’t have the time or inspiration to create a strong profile just yet, don’t worry as we can use our default about me section for you. Simply get in touch when you’re ready to update it, send us your changes, and we’ll bring your profile up to date for you.
