How Do File Uploads and Attachments Work

When patients upload documents to your Pre-Op Questionnaire, those files are sent as attachments to the email you receive with their completed form.

This process is the same for your Contact Form attachments. They come as email attachments too. This means everything you need arrives together with no extra logins or downloads required.

Are the files saved anywhere?

No. For security reasons, uploaded files are automatically deleted from our servers once they are emailed to you. This ensures that only you have access to those files.

Why don’t the links work?

Links inside the questionnaire will not work after the email has been sent, because the file has been deleted off our server.

Preoperative Assessment Form patient file uploads

This process also applies to your Contact Form attachments, which will be sent as email attachments and deleted from our server too.

What if I need to re-access a file later?

It’s best to save any files you wish to keep from the patient notification email, if you are planning on deleting the email.

Once a questionnaire, and it’s uploaded attachments are sent to you, it is deleted from our server, meaning we are not able to retrieve it again for you.

All files are sent directly to your email, which means you can store them securely yourself or upload them to the hospital record, according to your personal preference and local practice policies.

Extra Tip! Your contact form can do more than just receive messages from patients.. you can also email yourself through it!

Your contact form can upload and send attachments too

Your Contact Form isn’t just for your patients, it’s also a reliable way for you to send yourself a message and files. This can be helpful when you:

  • Are at a hospital and need to quickly send documents to yourself
  • Are at the airport, on holiday or have a low battery and need to use another device to send yourself a quick reminder
  • Don’t have secure login access, but need to forward a message or attachments from another device
  • Or even because sometimes you or your family just need something to land straight into your inbox

Plus, as your profile page is visible on Google (unless you’ve requested it be hidden), it means others can reach you securely through your contact form if needed. For example, a surgeon’s rooms might contact you for a list, or (as once happened!) someone could return something you’ve lost by searching your name.

It also means colleagues, acquaintances, hospitals or patients can always get in touch through your contact form, without you giving them your personal contact details.

Think of it as your own personal mail tool. Simple, reliable, and always ready.
