Patient Pre-Op Feedback

In the last two years, a staggering 21,002 visitors chose to complete the optional patient pre-op feedback form at the end of the questionnaire.

The Ratings

• 96.5% = 20,256 patients = Loved the site and found it easy
• 1.8% = 380 patients = Thought the site was just OK or identified things we could improve
• 1.7% = 366 patients = Didn’t like the site

The Trends

• Of the 21,002 patients that left a rating, 4,449 took time to leave a detailed comment
• 2,045 people left the comment that they had no suggestions for improvement
• 527 people responded the pre-op form was ‘easy‘ or ‘very easy‘
• 278 people responded ‘All good‘ or “It was good“

The Comments

Here are some examples of the patient pre-op feedback comments we received. All comments are based on the question: “Do you have any feedback or suggestions on how we can make the site better?”

• I am in my eighties and in a constant battle with computers. Seeing I could negotiate your site unaided means that it must be excellent, i.e. clearly and logically set out. Thank you.
• I love the detail and level of questions, it makes feel safe knowing that my anaesthetist has all relevant information
• It was perfectly user friendly and thorough. Much appreciate this pre-admission form as it gives me more confidence in that the anesthetist has some kind of medical background of his patient before the procedure. Thank you.
• I think this is a great way of providing the information prior to meeting my Anaesthetist. It obviously gives him/her time to investigate should they require any further information prior to surgery.
• It was the easiest form to fill out online on the phone
• I was very impressed, the form was so easy to navigate. Whoever designed it deserves a lifetime of praise! 😂

• It was easily laid out. Good that all options allowed (yes, no AND unsure) so the patient was not left wondering if they have answered correctly. Clear instructions at the beginning was good.
• I was very grateful to hear from Dr xx pre operatively and be able to send detailed information to him. I was also impressed that I was asked if I wanted him to contact me prior to my admission. I work in pre admissions at Freemasons and regularly come across issues with incoming patients who haven’t ceased blood thinners etc or who have major issues and have received no contact from anyone pre operatively. I wish more anaesthetists were like him! I found the form easy to complete and it was very easy to send an attachment when needed. Thank you so much.
• It is a good service. I am a low risk patient myself. I am a GP and do have a number of patients who would have appreciated talking with the anaesthetist before their procedures, so I do appreciate you making the effort to create this opportunity.
• It was a great form. Easy to use and good attachment size options – much better than the hospital online admission form!
• No, I was quite impressed at how easy it was to complete. I wish that other Medicos would use this system prior to day of consultation or operation.

• I have had multiple anaesthesia procedures, and have NEVER been asked to fill in such a comprehensive questionnaire. I imagine this is good, a sign of thorough pre-preparation. Maybe this approach is the reason that Drxx has recommended Dr xx so highly & requested that he provide the anaesthesia services for these procedures (2). I hope so!! I am very reassured that the question was asked about what pain relief medications should be avoided after surgery – too often my past history has been ignored.

• I liked how nicely I was contacted prior to my procedure to get all the relevant information that are important before the procedure.

• I found this very useful as I was getting stressed about having to schedule an anaesthetic pre op appointment with my time constraints. Living in Carnarvon, having to go to Perth for the bcc op, then DRIVE to Geraldton next day for the “repair”, as flights do not work in with the schedule. This form was VERY helpful. Great idea. • Form is professional with required information and easy to fill out
• It’s good to be able to advise online prior to procedure.
• It’s better than the hospital’s questionnaire, which doesn’t allow an allergy to be recorded.

• Much easier that the Private Hospital online form, straightforward and intuitive (it is good to be told what documents will be required before starting the form, so that I could get them all on my desktop to upload more easily).
