I am a GP anaesthetist working in Geraldton from my group practice at Bluff Point Medical Centre. I did my basic medical degree in Dublin, Ireland before making the move to Australia in 2008 to begin my medical career. I started my internship in Royal Perth Hospital and spent 5 years in Perth before joining the GP training program. I moved to Geraldton in 2014 and completed my GP training, becoming a fellow of the RACGP in 2016. Contemplating my next steps, I decided to commence my anaesthetic training, the JCCA, in 2019 in Mildura, Victoria. I concluded this in 2020 and ended up having an extended holiday in my home country of Malaysia thanks to Covid! I always planned to return to Geraldton and did so in 2021, with a new wife in tow and eventually adopting 2 toy poodles to start my little family unit. Since then, I have been providing anaesthetic services both in the public and private hospital here. I thoroughly enjoy my work and hope to provide patients with a safe and pleasant experience.

If you are due to have a procedure with a surgeon and have been referred to me, I would appreciate if you could take the time to fill out the pre-anaesthetic questionnaire as early as possible, as this will greatly help me plan and ensure that your anaesthetic is safe and tailored for you and your procedure. Please ensure that you list out all medications and any supplements which you may be taking. Please also contact my practice at Bluff Point Medical Centre as we will need you to register yourself and provide your medicare and any private health fund details. You will also be provided with an estimate for your procedure prior to the day of surgery.

It is also imperative that you follow any instructions provided to you, especially with regards to medications and fasting before your procedure. This is for your own safety whilst undergoing an anaesthetic.
