Dr Selena Hunter

Dr Selena Hunter is an Anaesthetic Specialist practicing at Wellington Hospital, Hutt Hospital, Bowen Hospital, Wakefield Hospital and Southern Cross Hospitals. She completed her Anaesthetic training in the Wellington region, including a Fellowship Year in Obstetric Anaesthesia. She initially started her Consultant career in 2010 with a Joint Clinical academic appointment at the University of Otago Wellington, as a University Senior Lecturer and Anaesthetic Consultant. Dr Hunter completed a Masters of Perioperative Medicine via Monash University in 2017.

Dr Hunter has a varied scope of practice, including breast cancer surgery, orthopaedic, gynaecology, general surgery, urology, acutes and preassessment and high risk obstetric clinics. She is also the lead Anaesthetic Allergist for the Wellington Hospital Anaesthetic Adverse Reaction Clinic. She is a Member of ANZAAG, NZSA and ANZCA. She has an active role in the Departmental Welfare group.

Dr Hunter is a published author including studies on clinical skills in medical students and anaesthetic allergy in New Zealand.
