About Dr Doogan
As an Anaesthetist, Dr Nicola Doogan is a medical specialist who helps you through your operation.

In 2005 Dr Doogan completed a Bachelor of Medical Science / Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at the University of NSW in Sydney. Upon completion of this combined degree Dr Doogan worked as a resident medical officer at the Prince of Wales Hospital and Sydney Children’s Hospital in Randwick. In these years Dr Doogan gained a broad range of experience in both adult and paediatric critical care medicine.

In 2010 Dr Doogan began training to be an Anaesthetist at the Prince of Wales and Sydney Children’s Hospital. During these years Dr Doogan worked at a number of hospitals around NSW including St George Hospital in Kogarah where she completed a fellowship year. In January 2015 Dr Doogan obtained a specialist qualification from ANZCA (FANZCA). For the following 2 years Dr Doogan worked as a specialist Anaesthetist in Sydney.

Dr Doogan relocated to the Gold Coast in 2017 and began working as a specialist at The Tweed and Murwillumbah Public Hospitals. Dr Doogan is currently accredited at several public and private hospitals in NSW and QLD.

What do you need to do?
Dr Doogan's aim is to provide high quality and safe anaesthesia for you during your surgery and to minimise the pain and discomfort as much as possible afterwards. Not all anaesthetics are the same. Therefore, to provide you with the safest and most effective anaesthetic, it is essential that Dr Doogan has your full medical and surgical history. In order to assist with this, Dr Doogan requests that all patients complete her Pre- Op Questionnaire.
