About Dr Hawn Trinh
As an Anaesthetist, Dr Hawn Trinh is a medical specialist who helps you through your operation. Dr Trinh is an Australian doctor who is officially recognised as a consultant in the speciality of anaesthesia. Dr Hawn Trinh graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Adelaide in 2007. He subsequently moved to Sydney and obtained his Fellowship in Anaesthesia from the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA) in 2015 having completed his fellowship training in the Royal North Shore Hospital network.

Dr Trinh underwent further sub-specialty experience in 2016 by completing a Fellowship in Regional Anaesthesia and Pain Management at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto, Canada. During his time he was affiliated with the University of Toronto and was involved in both educational and research activities.

Dr Trinh returned to Sydney in 2017 and currently holds public VMO appointments at Prince of Wales Hospital, Sydney Children’s Hospital, Royal Hospital for Women and Ryde Hospital. He also has a busy private practice at hospitals including Prince of Wales Private, St Luke’s, North Shore Private, Mater North Sydney, Strathfield Private and Chris O’Brien Lifehouse.

Dr Trinh maintains an active involvement in teaching, having obtained a Graduate Certificate in Clinical Education (GradCertClinEd) from Flinders University and is a Conjoint Lecturer at the University of New South Wales. He continues to facilitate workshops at national and international conferences.

Dr Trinh’s expertise include anaesthesia for orthopaedic surgery, obstetric and gynaecological surgery, adult and paediatric ENT surgery and major oncological surgery. He is also a member of the Acute Pain Service at Prince of Wales Hospital.

In collaboration with the surgeon and proceduralist, Dr Trinh provides care of the upmost standard to his patients with compassion and empathy.

What do you need to do?
Not all anaesthetics are the same. Therefore, to provide you with the safest and most effective anaesthetic, it is essential that Dr Trinh has your full medical and surgical history. In order to assist with this, Dr Trinh requests that all patients complete the Pre-Op Questionnaire.
