Dr Gaurang Barot is a Specialist Anaesthetist who will be working with your surgeon for your upcoming procedure.

As an Anaesthetist, Dr Gaurang Barot is a medical specialist who helps you through your operation. Dr Barot is an Australian doctor who is officially recognised as a consultant in the specialty of anaesthesia. Dr Barot is also a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists.

About Dr Barot
Dr Barot grew up in Gujarat, India. He attended M.S. University of Vadodara where he completed medical training and commenced specialist Anaesthesia training in 2001. On completion, Dr Barot undertook a fellowship in Cardiac Anaesthesia and Intensive Care. Migrating to Queensland in 2006, he worked at Hervey Bay Hospital, Princess Alexandra Hospital and the Royal Brisbane, culminating in fellowship with Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists. Dr Barot moved to Sunshine Coast in 2012 and currently undertakes both private and public work. He is a Senior Staff Specialist in Anaesthesia at Sunshine Coast University Hospital. He specialises in anaesthesia for a variety of procedures, including Vascular, Trauma, General, Urology and Respiratory.

Dr Barot is passionate about providing the highest quality in anaesthesia management and in respecting patient’s rights. He is also passionate about teaching the highest values to the next generation of perioperative health care providers.

Outside of medicine, Dr Barot likes four wheel driving, dirt/road motorcycles and European Football.

What do you need to do?
Not all anaesthetics are the same. Therefore, to provide you with the safest and most effective anaesthetic, it is essential that Dr Barot has your full medical and surgical history. In order to assist with this, Dr Barot requests that all patients complete the Pre-Op Questionnaire.
