Dr David Wright

I completed my medical training at University of Queensland in 1984 and subsequently worked in various regional Queensland hospitals before working as a rural GP and GP-Anaesthetist in Gympie for 15 years. I then commenced Specialist Anaesthetic training, completing this in 2009 and have since worked as a Specialist Anaesthetist in public and private practice on the Sunshine Coast and Gympie. I am a founding member of the Coastal Anaesthesia Providers group when it formed in August 2011.
I have experience and interest in most areas of anaesthesia provided on the Sunshine Coast with particular interest in orthopaedic anaesthesia including nerve blocks and post-operative pain management. iI have also become one of the few anaesthetists on the Sunshine Coast providing in-rooms IV sedation for dental surgery.

Having you complete a pre-op questionnaire provides me with a lot more information than you previously provided to the dentist or private hospital. It will also allow you to inform me of things you are most concerned about or if needed – request me to contact you if you have specific concerns that need to be addressed pre-operatively.
Completing an anonymous feedback survey after your procedure allows me to monitor whether the service I am providing is meeting the needs of my patients and allows patients to inform me of what they thought of the service they received from me.
